National Federation of Polish NGOs (Ogólnopolska Federacja Organizacji Pozarządowych, OFOP) was established in 2003 by the initiative group of Polish organizations – as a result of a participatory process aimed at establishing a representation body for the third sector in Poland. Currently, OFOP has 132 member organizations, which are listed here (link: http://ofop.eu/strefa-czlonkowska/baza-czlonkow).

As many of our members are also federations of organizations, indirectly OFOP may claim over 400 member organizations.
Mission
We act on behalf and through our members for strong third sector in Poland.
Goals
- Developing cooperation, performance standards and building a sense of identity within the third sector in Poland.
- Advocacy on behalf of non-governmental organizations for their common interests.
- Shaping favorable social attitudes towards the third sector and maintaining its fair image.
Tasks
- Creating mechanisms to evaluate how the member organizations adhere to the standards defined in the Charter of Operational Principles of Non-governmental Organizations.
- Taking position on dubious practices of non-governmental organizations.
- Promoting performance standards, especially those related to quality and effectiveness, among non-governmental organizations.
- Creating conditions for the exchange of experiences, resources, as well as dissemination of proven solutions.
- Working towards legislative changes important for the non-governmental organizations.
- Gathering information on the interface between third sector and public administration, in particular regarding the subsidiarity principle.
- Gathering information on the modalities of financial resources available to non-governmental organizations.
- Initiating efforts to build an honest image of the third sector.
- Preparation of information strategies on the third sector.
- Working towards greater civic engagement.
- Conflict resolution and mediation efforts.
