Civil Society Forum and opening of OFIP

The National Forum for Non-Governmental Initiatives (OFIP) is a cyclical event taking place once every three years in Warsaw. The first OFIP took place in 1996. Since 2014, its organizer has been the National Federation of Polish Non-Governmental Organizations. OFIP is attended by representatives of NGOs, local governments, public administration and business. This year, in connection with the upcoming Polish presidency of the Council of the European Union and the new term of the European Parliament and the Commission, we are meeting internationally at the Civil Society Forum to discuss the future and development of civic space at the European level.

To this end, representatives of organizations working at the European level and OFIP partners have prepared two documents describing the achievements of civil society organizations in the 2019-2024 term, as well as the challenges and expectations of the European institutions for the coming years. The documents will be the starting point for discussions on the first day of OFIP, Wednesday, June 26-June 2024. One of the documents is an appeal to the governments responsible for the next presidency cycle, which will be opened for signature.
